Appt #2 for the day

Appt #2
He couldn't get a heartbeat from the monitor so he did another ultrasound. The baby is over 2 inches now....it was almost an inch 2 weeks ago so its growing at the rate it should. I found out more details as to what we can expect in the future. I am considered high risk and we will be going through alot in the next few months. This is what Dr Gayle basically said:
First, we have to wait to get the results back from MD Anderson
Second, we will have to wait until Im 15 weeks to get a MRI
Third, we will have to see how extensive the surgery will be
Fourth, if radiation is necessary while I am pregnant then they will have to take the baby. He said the radiation would kill it because the tumor is in my abdomen.

He said that he really didnt want to have to talk about all of this unless we got to this point but I told him that I wanted to be prepared for the worst and not be blind sided again. He told me that if its fast growing then we will basically have a choice to terminate the pregnancy or keep the baby and wait for radiation. He said that hes against terminating babies but being a wife and a mother it may be in our best interest. He said that we will talk more about it if it gets to that point.

He was going to call the surgeon and tell him that its probably best the we head on to MD Anderson in Houston and let them take over from there.
